AFTER LÉMAN, PLACE FOR THE 5 LARGEST LAKES IN SWITZERLAND
THE SPORTY ONE
Last summer, Noam Yaron set off into Lake Geneva to swim his length, no less than 75 kilometers, covered in a record time of 19 hours, 53 minutes and 7 seconds. Less than a year later, the former Swiss junior 3000m open water swimming champion is preparing for a new, even crazier challenge. This time, it is a question of quintupling the bet, since Noam Yaron will swim across 5 of the largest lakes in Switzerland at the end of the summer of 2022. A challenge never before attempted to date!
THE CHALLENGE
Lake Geneva already crossed, here is the program: Lake Zürich, Lake Quatre Cantons, Lake Lugano, Lake Constance and Lake Neuchâtel. It is a question of crossing these 5 lakes in their length with the exception of Lake Constance where Noam will reconnect the mouth of the Rhine, in order to remain in Switzerland, the territory of the project. The selected trajectories measure between 30 and 40 km. The young Vaudois challenged himself to chain this fifth of a total distance of around 200 km in less than 15 days, i.e. 1 crossing, 2 days of break, 1 crossing, etc.
THE CAUSE
This Odyssey of the Lakes aims to raise awareness among the Swiss population about the preservation of water and to protect its water points from plastic and chemical pollution, in particular because of the impact of cigarette butts. To achieve this ambitious objective, the Odyssée des Lacs team will set up various actions to raise awareness and encourage the population to respect this source of life. A great adventure to follow now on Noam Yaron's social networks and on the WATER PRESERVATION page.
